Over 5 beauty essentials are sold every second on Flipkart. In 2024 alone, over 148 million beauty products were sold on the platform. India is in the midst of a beauty revolution, with Gen-Z, creators, and Flipkart at its heart.

Flipkart’s inaugural Glam Up Annual Beauty Trends Report, unveiled at the flagship Glam Up Fest 2025, captures all of this and more, while highlighting a key shift — that in 2025, beauty is no longer just about products, it is about intentional choices shaped by conscious consumers and creator-led influence.

Developed in partnership with Nielsen IQ, this report highlights how Flipkart is driving India’s multi-billion-dollar beauty boom, with evolving consumer preferences, rising affluence, and increasing demand across various regions fueling this surge.

Gen Z, meanwhile, is a key driving force in the Indian beauty landscape’s transformation, with
their digital fluency and trend-first mindset redefining how beauty is discovered, chosen, and celebrated. Even search terms have seen a remarkable shift, with a reshaping of skincare routines, searches are no longer product-focused. Searches for niacinamide, ceramides, and other science-led actives continue to rise, while viral trends like glazed donut skin and slugging reflect a move towards hydration-first, result-driven routines.

And K-beauty? From millennials to now Gen Z, India’s love for Korean beauty products continues unabated — searches for Korean beauty grew ~81% YoY, making it one of the fastest-rising segments on Flipkart.
