My name is Ritesh Kumar Sharma. I come from an army background — my father was in the armed forces — and I was the first to start a business in the family. I run a company called LR Retail and our brand on Flipkart is Mokshi. I have been a Flipkart seller since January 2016.
Before I became an entrepreneur, I was working in the service sector, but soon realized I wanted to start my own business. I already knew who my business partner would be ー my wife, who is now the proprietor of LR Retail.
My wife and I started our business selling offline and learned a lot from it. Once we realized we could reach more customers and grow our business if we were selling online, we registered as #Sellfmade Flipkart sellers. We knew we made the right choice when we saw the customer base we would be selling to. Once we were onboarded, we started getting 10-20 orders per day and soon the numbers started to go up. We started receiving 35-40 orders and today we see at least 100 orders in a day.
The experience has been great so far. All our attention and efforts are now focused on the orders coming from Flipkart customers and we haven’t looked back since. The impact on our business since partnering with Flipkart has been tremendous!
Before The Big Billion Days sale this year, we planned everything in detail — the offers for our customers, the products to list, procurement of packaging material, warehouse space management and addressing customer demand. The communication from Flipkart about warehouse space, logistics, and all the support from the Flipkart Seller team really benefited us.
Owing to these efforts, we were successful in achieving our target. We sold almost 70,000 products every day during this year’s sale.
Earlier this year, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, everything was shut. We thought we wouldn’t be able to get back on track with our business. But then we received a call from Flipkart and we were told that we could start selling online again. We followed all the government directives when it came to sanitization and we took utmost care of our employees.
Our employees cooperated at every step of getting the business running again. Our Account Manager at Flipkart also kept in touch regularly and we modified our business operation as per his instructions.
Flipkart is very supportive of sellers like us. Onboarding is very easy and their communication is transparent. Everything is discussed before the products are listed and I’ve noticed that following our Account Manager’s instructions ensured our success!
