After moving to Bengaluru from Khordha, Odisha, Sugyani Behera embraced new opportunities at Flipkart, where she credits a supportive environment for helping her grow in her role. A lover of music, she balances her career ambitions with a passion for singing. Read her story.
I’m Sugyani Behera, 22, from Khordha, Odisha.
My family includes my father, who is a private car driver, my mother, my older sister, who works as a bank manager, and my younger brother, who is still studying.
After graduating in Economics, I moved to Bengaluru two years ago in search of new opportunities. With the help of a friend, I got to know about an opening at Flipkart.
I joined as a Data Entry Operator in 2023. Being part of Flipkart has been a significant step in my career. With the help of my seniors, I quickly learned the ropes of the role and have grown to enjoy my time here.
My aim is to advance in my role and continue to build my career here. The supportive environment at Flipkart makes me excited about learning and growth.
Outside of work, music is my real passion. I love singing! Although I haven’t pursued it professionally yet, I’ve participated in various competitions at school and college, and won a few prizes.
Last year’s Big Billion Days was my first, and it was phenomenal. We processed over 3 lakh orders per day. I was amazed at how meticulously everything was planned by the team, and the execution was top-notch.
Here at the Malur fulfillment center, employees come from all over the country. We all treat each other with immense respect. This also ensures that the work is done as smoothly as possible.
Back home, I love spending quality time with my family. Festivals are especially meaningful for us, as they provide a chance to come together and celebrate. I cherish our visits to Puri, with its beautiful Jagannath Temple, and I also enjoyed my visit to Tirupati.
My family is my biggest support system, even now that I live in a different city. My mother, especially, motivates me to learn and grow from my mistakes every day. They are very proud of my journey so far, particularly of the fact that I manage everything on my own in this big city.
Living alone for the first time, I am learning what it means to be an adult. I love the independence that comes with this opportunity. I’m also able to provide for my family financially while saving for my future.
I am creating a life that I love. I’m taking it one step at a time, and with the support of my family and my experience at Flipkart, I’m hopeful for the future.
