Three years ago, Jenifa Amjath joined Flipkart as a Wishmaster to support her family. Today, she leads a team of strong women and stands as proof of how the right opportunities can transform lives. Read her #OneInABillion journey in her own words.
My name is Jenifa Amjath. I am 31 years old. I was born and raised in the coastal town of Kayalpattinam, Tamil Nadu, and this is where I live today with my two children who are nine and five. My husband works in Chennai, so a lot of the day-to-day care of the family and home falls on me.
I have been working at the Flipkart hub in Kayalpattinam for the past three years. I started as a Wishmaster, delivering packages across my town, and three months ago, I was promoted to Hub Assistant. When I think about how far I have come, it fills me with pride because this job has changed my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
A few years ago, my family was struggling with debt. I wanted to find something that would not only help us get by, but also give me a sense of independence. That’s when I became a Flipkart Wishmaster. I started earning steadily and slowly, and step-by-step, I cleared all our debts. Today, I can say with confidence that we are standing on solid ground. The opportunity at Flipkart gave me a chance to rebuild my family’s future and my own confidence.
As a Wishmaster, my days were long and tiring but also deeply fulfilling. During the Big Billion Days, for example, I would deliver nearly 100 orders a day. Each parcel I handed over to customers felt like a small success.
Now, in my role as Hub Assistant, my responsibilities have grown.  I work in two shifts. I am able to go home in between my two shifts to be with my children. It’s a long day, but I have learned to enjoy it. I like that I can support my team and help them do their best. It makes me feel like I am growing right alongside them.

When I am not at work, I am with my family. My children love badminton, and I take them to their classes without fail. These moments with them – taking them to play, spending quality time together – mean everything to me.
Another thing that I take immense pride in is my team. We have about 26 members, and most of them are women. Some are my friends, and a few are even my relatives. Over time, we have built a strong bond, which helps me understand them as employees and their needs as well. We support each other through the busy days, and find moments to laugh together whenever we can. This sisterhood is what motivates me to keep going – knowing that I am surrounded by women who understand, encourage, and uplift one another.
For other women who are thinking about joining Flipkart or exploring supply chain work, I would say this: go for it. It is safe, empowering, and gives you the kind of independence that changes everything. This job has made me self-sufficient and confident, and I want more women to experience that.
I have come a long way from where I started. From clearing debts to leading a team, this journey has taught me the true meaning of resilience and responsibility. I want to keep learning, growing, supporting my family, and helping other women rise with me because when one of us moves forward, we all do.
