In 2021, Nayanta (25) and Biju Chandra (24) Chakma bid goodbye to their elder brother who moved from Arunachal Pradesh to Bengaluru, Karnataka in search of a job. Little did they know that a few months later, they too would join him at Flipkart. Read on to find out more about these siblings who, far from home, share a passion for food, football and Flipkart!
We remember our older brother moving to Bengaluru when his friend told him about a job in Flipkart. He began working as a security guard here. Then a few months later, he called us and told us that Flipkart was hiring for other roles too! That is when we both applied and found roles in the supply chain teams.
Now, all three of us work in the same place!
We have a sister too, who lives in Arunachal Pradesh, and so do our parents. Our home state is beautiful – there are jungles and rivers, and we are so used to seeing deer and snakes and other animals close to home. We also grow potatoes and other vegetables. Our favorite food is fish, which is abundantly available, and of course, the food our mother makes. We love the chicken and fish she prepares!
We remember playing a lot of football and cricket back home while growing up. Now that the both of us live together in Bengaluru, we are still able to play our favorite sports. We love Bengaluru FC – the city’s football club, and the Mumbai Indians when it comes to cricket. We live with some friends, and our older brother lives close to us too. We cook our own food, but sometimes we also eat the idlis and the dosas that this city is known for.
With our roles at Flipkart, we are able to make our own money. We decided to work so we could fulfill our dream of building a house for our family.
We enjoy the processes in supply chain. We have made friends at work, since there are people from all over the country here. We also receive support from our team and leaders whenever we have any questions.
We have already seen the action-packed time that The Big Billion Days are. There are a lot of packages, but since we already witnessed it last year, we are all set for this edition.
Most people think that since we spend all our time together – both at home and at work – it may lead to misunderstandings. But we love it! It is great having a brother at work.
