Flipkart is making this festive season one to remember and cherish for all Indians. This has been a challenging year for India’s armed forces and we remain deeply indebted to them for the opportunity to celebrate this festive season with our loved ones. As always, Flipkart dedicates The Big Billion Days sale, India’s biggest sale, to India. This year, we are making an extra special gesture, the Flipkart For India program, to the Indians who matter most — our brave heroes and martyrs.
This year, 2017, is Flipkart’s tenth year of innovating for India. As we prepare to dazzle India with yet another edition of our much-awaited sale, The Big Billion Days, our hearts and thoughts remain with the brave defence personnel. Some of them have laid down their lives in the supreme sacrifice for the nation, while others fight bravely on the front, keeping us safe every day. Safe to innovate without fear, safe to transform e-commerce for India, and safe to fulfill wishes every day. In gratitude to our armed forces personnel, we are proud to announce the Flipkart For India program.
As a part of the Flipkart For India program, Flipkart will commemorate the valor and heroism of our brave martyrs as well as our serving defence personnel by sharing the joy of the festive season with their families and loved ones. As a modest gesture of our respect and gratitude to those who secure the nation’s borders and keep our country safe, Flipkart will send a special gift to the families of these brave personnel.
Flipkart will ship festive gift hampers to the families of Army martyrs and current serving personnel of the Army, Border Security Force and the Central Reserve Police Force, who are posted away from home. The specially packaged boxes will contain an assortment of dry fruits and a Flipkart gift voucher worth ₹10,000 that can be used to shop on Flipkart.
“Our soldiers and their families are real heroes who make tremendous sacrifices everyday to keep us safe. As a homegrown company, we want to ensure that soldiers, their families, and the families of martyrs who’ve made the supreme sacrifice have something to look forward to, when the whole country is getting into a celebratory mood. The Big Billion Days is a festival for India, and we want to help them celebrate it with the country with this small token of gratitude,” said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart.
